We’re in luck with this scheduling of two exciting shows at the Berkeley Art Museum! The Cooper Wasserman Collection of art by female artists since the sixties has been donated to the museum and a large selection of greats is on view.

Also, Maren Hassinger’s retrospective just opened and we will see sculpture by this acclaimed artist who uses materials to mimic nature and articulates the relationship between nature and humanity.Marenis also a dancer and you can see the movement inherent in her works.

We’ll have lunch at the Kopi Bar & Bakery at the Museum for some unique local fare and then zip off to an artist’s studio for a private tour of new work.

At Sherry Karver’s very cool art studio we’’ll see the converted space where she lives and works. Sherry’s photo-based work appears in two different formats where she combines her figurative images with scripted comments that highlight elements of peoples’ emotional lives.
