The Next Amazing Art Tour features the contrasting aesthetics of Old vs New Art…

with a tour of an artist’s studio whose art is inspired by vintage jigsaw puzzles and a visit to the Bay Area’s newest Art Museum

1. We start at the art studio visit to David Jones’ studio, a Bay Area artist who mines the unique history of jigsaw puzzles for their die cuts and turns them into complex compositions. David will reveal in-depth his unique process and uncover his innovative art practice.

2. Lunch at a local café.

3. Visit  the Bay Area’s newest museum on the waterways of Alameda, The Floating Art Museum. It’s hidden in a barge at the industrial yard works of the Hall Art and Technology Foundation. This unique collection of art highlights underrepresented and emerging artists has a mission to empower cultural innovation. Discover new favorites in the unlikeliest of places!

 ITINERARY:

We will meet at David Jones’s studio in West Oakland at 10:30 am.

After a no-host lunch at a nearby cafe, we will drive to the Floating Art Museum in Alameda to view the collection called “Rising Tides.” A guide will lead us through the exhibition spaces and tell us about the art and the collector’s vision in bringing this project together.
